DataKolektiv is my boutique consultancy, founded in 2017. I work with clients who need to go beyond off-the-shelf AI: companies navigating complex data environments, building decision intelligence systems, or transforming their operations with machine learning. The work spans consulting, system design, hands-on development, and education.
What I bring
More than thirty years at the intersection of computer science, mathematical statistics, and cognitive science. I’ve been programming since 1984 and publishing research since my teens. My academic background is in computational cognitive psychology — human memory, categorization, causal reasoning, judgment and decision making under risk — which is why I approach AI and data science through the lens of how decisions actually get made, not just how models get trained.
Track record
smartocto (2022–2026). Senior and Lead Data Scientist, then Chief AI Officer. I shaped and designed all the ML and AI-supported products in media analytics that my team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers then developed.
Wikidata (2017–2022). Full-stack data science for the world’s largest open knowledge base: ETL and pre-processing in Big Data systems, machine learning, custom statistical analysis, and hand-crafted dashboards in virtualized production environments. Here is my Wikidata Analytics System repo.
Management. Over twenty years of managing research and development teams across academic and commercial settings, from university labs to international technology companies.
Consulting. Expert services to Swiss banking institutions and leading global technology-oriented market research firms. Education and training in Data Analytics, Data Science, Machine Learning, and Generative AI systems across local and Western European markets — one of the earliest consultancies to work in this space.
Academic and publishing. Co-editor and co-author of five books on Internet user behavior, Information Society, and Internet Governance. Published in leading journals in Cognitive Psychology, numerous conference proceedings. Experienced keynote speaker. DataKolektiv now operates through three focused programs:
- AI Analyst LAB — Data analysis with AI and vibe coding in Python. Low entry barrier, built for professionals who need analytical capability without a CS degree.
- Decision Intelligence LAB — Where cognitive science meets machine learning. Systems that support real human decision making, not just prediction.
